Abstract: This work considers the possibilities of using static analysis and scanning electron microscopy techniques to determine the properties of disperse materials, i.e. corrosion resistant steel grades 12H18N9T (AISI 321) and 20H13 (AISI 420), taken into account in the selective laser melting technique.

Abstract: The results of vibration signals control the processing of conductive ceramics EDM machines. It has been shown that the processing of ceramics has a number of features, which was successfully controlled with the help of additional monitoring of high-frequency vibrations.

Abstract: For deposition of hard coatings is used a source of metal atoms accompanied by high-energy gas atoms. The metal atoms are produced due to sputtering a flat rectangular target in low pressure magnetron discharge. The gas atoms with energy up to 30 keV are produced due to charge exchange collisions of accelerated ions in space charge sheaths near the surfaces of a grid parallel to the target. The ions are extracted from the discharge plasma and accelerated by high-voltage pulses applied to the grid. The metal atoms pass through the grid and deposit on the products. Conjunction of their trajectories with those of gas atoms bombarding the growing coating allows synthesis of the coatings on rotating dielectric products. Mixing by high-energy gas atoms of the coating atoms and atoms of the product material in its surface layer improves the coating adhesion.

Abstract: The experimental results prove the ability to produce layers modified by microalloying with electron-beam technology using wide range of materials. Such layers were produced due to initiating exothermic chemical reactions between the base and the thin film covered the base. This resulted in finding new phase compounds in reaction products.

Abstract: The results of the research of vibro-acoustic signals, accompanying the processes of electrical discharge machining and pulsed laser treatment, are presented in this article. It is shown that the monitoring parameters of vibro-acoustic signals can improve the quality of management spark erosion equipment.

Abstract: This work studies wear kinetics of index able inserts (II) made of mixed ceramics based on Russian-manufactured in case of fine milling of special hardened cast iron with globular graphite. In a wide range of cutting parameters typical for fine milling, an impact of tool insert wearing parameters on qualitative and quantitative characteristics of the cutting process have been studied. Morphological traits and nature of wear of work surfaces has been studied using optical and scanning electron microscopy. Criteria of II states, as well as specifics of contact work surface transformation, correlating with force parameters of the face milling process, have been determined.

Abstract: This paper studies the computing possibilities of estimating the deformation of the surface layer in machining of details with cutting tools of different levels of wear. The calculation results were experimentally compared with the data obtained by the results of a grid distortion analysis in cutting. Results of how deformation intensity evaluation affects the parameters of vibroacoustic signal have also been presented.

Abstract: Thispaper presents the results of the studies of the combined influence of properties of carbide substrate and composite coatings on tool wear resistance in machining of chromium-based heat-resistant alloys. It was established that the efficiency of carbide tools with coatings is determined by a combination of the properties of the carbide substrate and the coating itself. For carbides with relatively low strength and crack resistance, the efficiency of coatings appeared to be unsatisfactory because of brittle fracture of the substrate and thus intensive failure of coating. High heat resistance of cobalt-rhenium alloy is not realized during deposition of coating because of blocking of the most important property of heat-resistant Co/Re binder, i.e. the ability to hold carbide grains under significant deterioration of carbide matrix even at a high temperature in the cutting zone. The maximum efficiency of the coating in machining of chromium-based heat-resistant alloy is provided withcarbide tools made with a balanced ratio of hardness, heat resistance and strength.
