Synthesis of Chlorine-Silicate Phosphors for White Light-Emitting Diodes

Article Preview

Abstract:

A novel approach to obtaining chlorine-silicate phosphors is developed. This method based on the synthesis in a microwave furnace is shown to provide the following advantages compared with the conventional procedures: (a) “warmer” color, (b) increased brightness, (c) significantly reduced processing time and cost. Phosphors are suitable for white LED and cathodoluminescent lamp applications.
