The Brazilian graduate school academic production about dance in children’s education
Abstract
The study analyzes the Brazilian graduate school academic production about dance inside Children’s Education, having as source the Catalogue of Thesis and Dissertations of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES Foundation). It is about a bibliographic research, state of knowledge type. Results indicate 24 works, published between 2003 and 2019, coming from the post-graduate programs in Education, Physical Education, Arts, Dance and Psychology. There is a prevalence of women authorship in the productions investigated, which are mostly deriving from public institutions. A significant part of the methodologies used in the works analyzed draws near to the school ground and owns propositional characteristics. Among all the topics discussed, the practices and the teaching methods regarding dancing in the context of Children’s Education are highlighted.
