Abstract

The application of nearest-neighbor methods in Earth remark has been of developing interest in recent years. These methods, which involve the usage of facts factors that are close to a given question point in an effort to infer properties associated with the latter, were used for a selection of functions, spanning from land cover mapping and trade detection to picture class and segmentation. This chapter will provide an in-depth analysis of the diverse nearest neighbor processes that can be presently hired in Earth observation technologies today. The principle idea in the back of these algorithms is based totally on a mixture of distance and similarity measures. New technologies, such as remote sensing and satellite imaging, have made it possible to observe and monitor the surface of the Earth from space. This approach has been successfully used to deliver precise results in a wide range of domains, including predicting the behavior of the stock market, classifying images, and migrating customer data.
