Abstract

The adoption of new technology for promoting peer learning has changed the educational landscape. Industrialized elites no longer own technology as a bonus. Major changes are democratizing education. The world economy is slowing after the COVID-19 pandemic. The mismatch in employment demand and supply and the appearance of new learning possibilities have forced individuals to prove their traditional training skills and learn how to display, prove, and build their own digital identity and reputation. The authors will revisit digital badges, which are visual representations of skills, knowledge, and achievements gained through learning activities. They can be used to showcase skills, especially for job seekers, and they can be started with younger generations at school to monitor cognitive development and expose them to challenging learning situations in an entertaining way.
