Abstract

This article proposes a dialogic “science communication workbook” that can be used for national science funds or other science administration, especially in countries of transition in the European Neighbourhood such as Georgia in the Southern Caucasus (as in the present case study). This outline comprises (1) an introductory frame on the reasons and needs for science communication and its role in society; (2) a definition of targets in science communication according to the quintuple helix model of innovation; (3) managing science communication activities as a self-responsible learning circle; (4) identifying the stakeholders for science communication activities as a concrete guide according to the “quintuple helix”; (5) preparing concrete action for communication medium, language, design, and structure; (6) recommendations and practical advice for stakeholders; and (7) dialogic procedures leading to the development and implementation of the guidelines. This suggested dialogic frame can support generation of quality control for national science communication.
