Abstract

The federal, state, and local level authorities make educational policies in the USA. The spirit of federal law is education as a civil right. The federal law Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 replaced No Child Left Behind. The school education system comprises a range of public and private schools, including charter and magnet schools. The US school education system includes elementary, middle, and high school. Elementary schooling includes kindergarten. The academic framework is essentially child-centric, flexible, gender-sensitive, and technologically enriched to empower all learners to excel. The US Education provides special education services for students with disabilities, including individualised education plans and specialised instructional support. Students must meet specific academic requirements to progress to the next level of education and pass standardised tests to graduate from high school. The strong emphasis on accountability measures, especially with ESSA law, has been a subject of ongoing debate and controversy.
