Abstract
Summary
“We developed the deconvolutive Radon transform (DecRT) to account for the AVO effects. We assume that the lateral variations of reflected wave’s amplitude can be approximated by a few terms of a polynomial basis in normalized offset. Accordingly, the DecRT basis functions are modified to follows a similar variations in offset direction. The new AVO-preserving DecRT can include not only zero offset reflectivity, but also higher order variations of the AVO.
Synthetic and field data examples are provided to demonstrate the performance of the new method in term of resolution and the results are compared with those of the conventional methods.”
