From the perspective of disaster chain, the study of flood disaster can achieve a more comprehensive understanding of the formation mechanism, temporal and spatial distribution of flood disaster and flood losses, and can systematically study the response strategies of flood disaster and derivative disaster. This paper summarizes the meaning of flood disaster chain by combing the definition of disaster chain by scholars at home and abroad. The paper focuses on the research content and research method of disaster chain and summarizes the chain scission and disaster mitigation measures in current researches of flood disaster chain. It is concluded that at present, the research on flood disaster chain by domestic and foreign scholars is not mature, which needs further in-depth research combined with other field technology in the risk analysis of flood disaster chain.
