대학생의 글로벌 의사소통역량 강화를 위한 학습자 중심 교육과정 개발에 관한 질적 연구: 의사소통 필요성 인식과 방해요인을 중심으로

본 연구는 대학생의 글로벌 의사소통에 대한 인식과 글로벌 사회의 구성원으로서 개인적 경험이 의사소통역량에 대해 어떤 인식을 갖게 했는지, 의사소통역량 강화의 방해요인은 무엇인지를 질적 연구방법을 통해 분석함으로써 글로벌 의사소통역량 강화를 위해 필요한 교육적 지원을 찾고, 제안하고자 하는 목적에서 시도되었다.
이를 위해 세계시민교육 교과목 이수자 12명을 대상으로 진행한 심층인터뷰를 통한 질적 연구를 진행하였다. 그 결과 연구 참여자들은 타문화 학습, 다양한 문화공존, 해외 취업 준비, 타자에 대한 존중과 배려를 위해 글로벌 의사소통이 필요하다고 했다. 또한 글로벌 의사소통역량 강화 방해요인에는 새로운 환경에 대한 적응의 두려움, 자기중심적 사고와 거부감, 외국어 실력 부족과 의사소통 기술의 부재, 선입견과 편견, 의식주 문화에 대한 차이로 범주화되었다.
이러한 분석 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구는 경험적 교육프로그램의 개발, 언어적 영역의 교육, 문화체험 프로그램, 문화 상호주의에 입각한 교육, 상호성의 입장에서 타협과 수용적인 태도로 합의를 이룰 수 있는 능력 개발을 위한 학습자 경험 중심의 교과목 개발 방향을 제시하고자 하였다.

This study aimed to analyze what is the necessity of global communication education and the disturbance factors recognized by undergraduate students and is required to communication competency. It was attempted to find out what educational support is required for improving undergraduate students’ global communication competence.
Participants of this study were 12 students who took were listening to global citizenship education at university. As a result of the analysis, the research participants in the necessity of global communication education suggested that it is necessary for learning about different cultures, the coexistence of diverse cultures, preparation for overseas employment, and respect and consideration for others. The participants in the disturbances of global communication competence stated to be categorized into fear of adaptation to a new environment, self-centered thinking and rejection, limitations in communication ability and lack of communication skills, preoccupation and prejudice, and differences in food, clothing and shelter culture.
This study suggests in directions of the development of learner-centered curriculum, global communication education and intercultural competency by reorganizing global citizenship education that can develop the ability to live with others.
