본 연구는 경기도의 한 개의 초등학교 5학년을 대상으로 성교육의 요구를 분석하여 성교육 보건수업 프로그램을 개발 및 교육효과를 연구하였다. 위 주제연구를 비교연구인, 실험집단 사전사후측정설계(pretest-posttest control group design) 현장연구로 실시하였다. 연구결과 성교육 보건수업 프로그램을 제공받은 학생들(실험군)은 실험전보다 성지식이 16.3점이 증가하였고 성태도 또한 1.4점의 증가로 둘 다 유의미한 결과로 나타났다. 연구 결과 성교육 보건수업 5차시 프로젝트가 학생들에게 교육적으로 긍정적인 영향이 있는 것으로 나타났다(χ²=.635, p=.003). 이러한 연구 결과를 통해 이 보건 성교육 5차시 수업 프로젝트는 공동체 교육을 실현하기 위한 인성 및 성교육 하나의 도구로 활용될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 본 성교육 보건수업 프로젝트를 통해 인성과 생명존중 의식이 높아지는 것을 알 수 있었으며 이에, 본 연구 결과를 기반으로 다음과 같이 제언은 다음과 같다.
첫째, 본 성교육 보건수업이 학교에서 적용되고 발전되기 위해서는 보건교육 활성화와 담임교사 등의 협력이 필요하며, 초등교육과정 고시, 정교사 전환 및 그에 따른 행정적인 인력지원(보건교사 2인배치, 보조인력 배치), 담임교사와 일상적 소통이 가능한 보건부서 조직 등이 후속적으로 뒷받침되어야 한다. 둘째, 학생의 성장발달 단계에 맞는 성에 관한 의식과 성태도를 측정 할 수 있는 다양한 연구와 실천이 필요하며 이를 보건교육과정을 중심으로 교육과정에 반영할 필요가 있다. 셋째, 성교육을 함에 있어 학생들이 “나에게 그런 일이 생기면 어떻게 할까?”라고 자문 할 수 있도록 사회의 사건 사고에 대해 개방적으로 말할 수 있는 방법적 접근이 필요하다. 넷째, 혁신학교의 기본철학인 ‘생활 돌봄시스템’을 성교육에도 함께 적용하여, 학생이 학급이나 사회공동체에서 ‘성’에 관한 고민이나 성문제 발생할 때, 마음 놓고 언제든지 학급이나 사회공동체에 도움을 요청할 수 있도록 학교 내 성건강 돌봄 시스템을 운영해야 할 것이며 이를 위해 가정과 사회에서도 공동 노력이 이루어져야 할 것이다.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the needs of sex education for 5th grade elementary school students in Gyeonggi province. The subject study was conducted as a comparative study, a pretest-posttest control group design field study. The results showed that the students who were provided with sex education health education program (experimental group) showed 16.3 points increase in sexual knowledge and 1.4 point increase in sexuality. The results showed that the 5th grade project on sex education health education had a positive educational effect on students (χ²= .635, P = .003). The result of this study shows that the 5th grade class project of health education can be utilized as a tool of personality and sex education to realize community education. Based on the results of this study, the following suggestions are as follows
First, in order to apply and develop the sex education health education in the school, it is necessary to revitalize the health education and cooperate with the homeroom teachers, and to inform the elementary education course, Placement), and a health department organization that can communicate with the homeroom teacher on a daily basis. Second, it is necessary to apply various research and practice to measure consciousness and sexuality according to the stage of growth of the student. It is necessary to reflect this in the curriculum focusing on the health education curriculum. Third, in the sex education, students need a methodical approach that can openly talk about the incidents of society so that they can ask "What should I do if something happens to me?"
Fourth, applying 'Living Care System', which is the basic philosophy of Innovative School, to sex education, students can ask for help to class or social community at any time without worrying about sexuality or gender issues in class or social community. In order to do this, joint efforts should be made in the family and society.
