2023년 전후로 ChatGPT, StableDiffusion, Midjourney, Bard, Firefly 등 다양한 생성형 인공지능시스템이 발표되고 있으며, 프로그램의 제작, 교육, 연구, 작문, 예술, 마케팅 등 다양한 분야에서 폭넓게 사용이 되고 있다. 특히 교육 분야에서도 ChatGPT 의 사용법을 시작으로 다양한 활용 교육을 실시하고 있다. 본 연구는 대학생들의 ChatGPT에 대한 인식의 분석을 통해, 현재 ChatGPT의 활용과 향후 발전 방향 등을 알아보았다. 2023년 9월에 공학계열, 인문사회계열, 자연과학계열, 예체능계열 4개 계열 169명의 대학생을 대상으로 20개의 설문을 하였으며, 통계 분석을 통해 ChatGPT에 대한 대학생들의 인식을 알아보았다. 그 결과 75.4%가 ChatGPT에 대해 알고 있었으며, 이중 53.8%는 직접 사용을 해 본 것으로 나타났다. ChatGPT의 사용목적은 교육(리포트)과 학습이 37.1%, 호기심 35.1%, 특정 정보 얻기 25.8% 순으로 나타났다. ChatGPT의 사용 만족도는 65.7%가 ‘만족이상’으로 답하였다. ChatGPT의 단점으로는 잘못된 정보제공 31%, 학습능력 저하 26.2%, 범죄악용 21.4% 순으로 나타났으며, 장점으로는 신속한 정보제공이 73.3%로 나타났다. 계열별 통계 귀무가설 검증에서 H2, H3, H4, H5, H10 설문 항목에서 차이가 있었다. 향후 ChatGPT의 효과적인 교육적용 방법, 다양한 생성형 인공지능에 대한 비교 분석등에 대한 추가적인 연구가 필요하다고 본다.
In the period around 2023, various generative artificial intelligence systems such as ChatGPT, StableDiffusion, Midjourney, Bard, and Firefly have been announced, and they are widely used in various fields such as program production, education, research, writing, art, and marketing. In particular, in the field of education, various utilization trainings are being conducted, starting with the use of ChatGPT. This study investigates the perception of college students regarding ChatGPT and explores its current applications and future development directions. A survey was conducted in September 2023 with 169 college students from four fields: engineering, humanities and social sciences, natural sciences, and arts. Through the analysis of 20 survey questions, statistical analysis was conducted to find out the perception of college students about ChatGPT. The results revealed that 75.4% of respondents were familiar with ChatGPT, with 53.8% having directly used the system. The purposes of using ChatGPT were for educational purposes (reports) and learning (37.1%), curiosity (35.1%), and obtaining specific information (25.8%). The overall satisfaction with ChatGPT usage was reported by 65.7% as "satisfied or above’. Identified drawbacks of ChatGPT included misinformation (31%), diminished learning capabilities (26.2%), and potential misuse for criminal activities (21.4%). Conversely, advantages included rapid information retrieval (73.3%). Significant differences were observed in the statistical null hypothesis verification of survey items (H2, H3, H4, H5, H10) across different fields. In the future, further research is needed on how to apply ChatGPT effectively in education, comparative analysis of various generative artificial intelligence.
