Das Würzburger MIH-Konzept: Teil 1. Der MIH-Treatment Need Index (MIH-TNI)

Ein neuer Index zur Befunderhebung und Therapieplanung bei Patienten mit Molaren-Inzisiven-Hypomineralisation (MIH)

Zusammenfassung

Eine internationale MIH-Arbeitsgruppe hat auf Grund der wichtigsten klinischen Probleme bei der MIH einen neuen MIH-Treatment Need Index (MIHTNI) erarbeitet. Mit Hilfe dieses Indexes ist es genauso möglich epidemiologische Untersuchungen an grösseren Kollektiven, wie auch individualisierte Befunderhebungen und Therapieplanungen an einzelnen Patienten durchzuführen. Der MIH-TNI berücksichtigt im Besonderen das Ausmaß an Destruktion der Zahnhartsubstanz in Kombination mit den bei MIH auftretenden Hypersensibilitäten. Der MIH-TNI soll bei individuellen Untersuchungen als Basis für ein geschlossenes, alle MIH-typischen Probleme umfassendes Therapiekonzept dienen. Zudem soll dieser Index die Grundlage zur Entscheidungsfindung bei mehreren bereits geplanten MIH-Therapiestudien bilden.

Summary

An international MIH working group has developed a new MIH Treatment Need Index (TNI MIH) due to the major clinical problems occurring in MIH. Using this index, it will be possible to conduct epidemiological studies on larger collectives as well as the assessment and planning of a treatment in individual patients. The MIH TNI considers in particular the extent of the destruction of the tooth structure in combination with the hypersensitivity occurring in MIH. The MIH-TNI is considered as a basis in individual examinations covering all MIH typical problems in a therapeutic concept. In addition, this index shall be the basis for decision-making in already planned MIH therapy studies.
