ANNOTATION

The article describes the peculiarities of the functioning of farms and the prospects of their development in Ukraine. Considering the research results, one has determined that the advantage of farms is dynamism, which allows them to focus on market trends, invest smaller amounts of money, introduceintensive technologies. It is also found that the efficiency of farms does not depend on the size of the enterprise. The process of farm development is constrained by the fact that its material and technical facilities largely depend on the dominant agricultural enterprises. One has established several obstacles to the farming formation. They are the following ones: the lack of funds due to lack of price parity for agricultural and industrial products; the growth of prices for industrial products which is significantly ahead of the increase in government purchase prices for agricultural products; low sales activity; the lack of adequate credit support; slow rate of cooperationdevelopment. Considering the analysis, although there is a decrease in the fleet of tractors, agricultural machinery, and energy capacity on farms in Ukraine and Lviv region, the total farm production increases every year. One has detected that the government support due to various programs isan important factor in the development of farms. One has offered state support in the form of market formation due to a public procurement and brokerage program. The problematic issue of land use by farms is the energy and oil orientation of production specialization. One of the promising areas of farms development suggests the cultivation of organic products, the organization of cultivation of flax, vegetables, fruits, berries, potatoes, niche crops of oil and grain groups of the organic type. The researchers offer their diversification as one of the directions of the financial support for farms.
