Effect of Visual Teaching Strategy on the Academic Achievement in Physics for First Secondary Students in Haql

Abstract
The problem of the research is identified in the weakness of academic achievement in physics for First Secondary Students in Haql, and as a contribution to solve this problem, the research purpose was to check the effect of the Visual Teaching Strategy on their academic achievement in Physics. To achieve the research objectives, the research adopted quasi-experimental design. The sample of the research was a purposive sample consisted of (67) students, the participants were divided into two groups: an experimental group which consisted of (34) students and a control group which consisted of (33) students. Also, tools and materials were prepared such as: achievement test, and teacher's guide to employ the Visual Teaching Strategy on teaching physics for First Secondary Students in Haql. After confirmations of its psychometric properties of validity and reliability, the test was applied to study the experimental group (which was studied by the Visual Teaching Strategy) and the control group (who was studied by the ordinary way). The data were analyzed with appropriate statistical techniques. The results of the research revealed that: There was a statistically significant difference at the level of (alpha less than 0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental groups and the control groups in the post-test in the academic achievement, in favor of the experimental group, and there was a statistically significant difference at the level of (alpha less than 0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental groups in the pre-test and post-test in the academic achievement in favor of post-test. Such results revealed the effect the Visual Teaching Strategy on the academic achievement in Physics based on the results, the research provided some recommendations and suggestions including taking into account the activation of the use of multiple visual aids that fall under the visual teaching strategy while teaching the various courses and building training programs based on the visual teaching strategy and its use in teaching by teachers.
