Gold surface modification with 2-thiohydantoins and their cobalt(II) complexes

Abstract

Self-organized monolayers (SOMs) of 2-thiohydantoins on gold modified with lipoic acid esters were studied using contact angle measurements. The feasibility of complexing SOMs with cobalt(II) ions was demonstrated. Optimal parameters were determined for generating surface metal complexes on gold.
