Abstract
The prospects for radial shear rolling in the lean production of small-diameter alloy-steel and alloy rods are considered. Specific applications of this technology are discussed: for example, in the automatic thermomechanical treatment of long rods with control of the deformation trajectory; in small-scale production of long VT1-0 alloy rods in the submicrocrystalline and nanostructured states; and in the repair of pump rods.
