青少年新電視使用與其家庭人際關係之研究

本研究探討多頻道、多元化節目的新電視環境下，台灣青少年的電視使用與其家庭人際關係間的關係。作者嚐試交叉使用問卷調查、焦點團體和深度訪談等方法，探究電視如何融入青少年的家庭生活。研究結果發現，在全亞洲有線電視成長最快、分布最密集的台灣，青少年不但置身在一個傳播新科技相當充裕的環境，而且他們看電視的時間的確相當長，但是這個最主要的家庭休閒活動，並沒有對青少年家庭人際關係有何正面或負面的影響。雖然大部分父母不喜歡孩子看太多電視，但在有第四台的家庭裡，由於可看的節目增多，增加了家人一起看電視的機會和時間，在某種程度上，共看電視塑造了一個有助家人共處的情境。
英文摘要
The study investigated adolescent television use in Taiwan households by asking respondents to evaluate their relationships with families in a multi-channel cable TV environment by survey, focus groups and in-depth interviews. The survey shows that with the rapidest proliferation in a short time in Asian area, cable viewing indeed grabbed adolescents' time spent with conventional TV viewing. However, this dominate leisure activity in the family did not affect relationships among family members. It is suggested by focus groups and interviews that TV viewing in cable households might enhance family togetherness.
