關刀溪森林生態系土壤二氧化碳釋放來源之探討

On the Sources of Soil CO2 Flux of Guandaushi Forest Ecosystem

關刀溪森林生態系位在台灣中部海拔700至1700公尺高的山區,研究站屬於台灣長期生態研究網的成員。本研究的採樣點遍植35年前人工造林的台灣夏。研究項目包括土壤二氧化碳的釋放量、土壤碳素含量及其δ13CPDB值等。土壤二氧化碳釋出量之測定,是以除去穠面落葉層為準,並依照不同季節、晝夜等時間尺度,持續進行二年。另將160公分深之土壤剖面分成不同層次,依次量其土壤碳素及其δ13CPDB值。土壤二氧化碳釋放率從9到24mole CO2/m2/month,並且隨著晝夜溫差與四季寒暑而高低起伏。總的土壤碳素釋出量為1240 g C/m2/year。而整個土層貯存有29783 g C/m2的碳。除了表層以外,土層之有機碳藏量為0.55至3.55%。δ13CPDB值範圍從-24.0到-27.3 0/00,其中段土層顯示有13C的富集現象。而且土壤與森林植物根的δ13CPDB值有顯著差異。從本研究結果顯示,植物的根呼吸佔土壤二氧化碳釋放量的25%至50%,但由於根系僅被截斷到表層30公分,因此可能低估了根呼吸對二氧化碳通量之貢獻;其他則為微生物呼吸的貢獻。從δ13CPDB值分析來看,表層40cm是有機物分解作用較活躍之處。

Guandushi Forest Ecosystem Station is one of the long-term ecological research networks of Taiwan (TERN) and is located at 700m to 1700m above sea level in central Taiwan. The sampling site of this study is in the 35 years old Cunninghamia lanceolata plantation. We measured the CO2 flux from the soil and δ13 CPDB values and concentration of organic carbon to investigate the source and the flux of CO2. Measurements of soil CO2 were made on surface with litters and organic rich layer removed. The measurements were made periodically at different seasons, over daytime and during the nighttime for over a period of about 2 years. Root and soil δ13CPDB values and carbon concentrations were made on a series of organic soil samples from a soil profile of 160cm depth. The CO2 fluxes range from about 9 to 24 mole CO2/m2/month and are higher in warm season and daytime than in cold season and at night, respectively. The integrated flux is 1240 g C/m2/year. For comparison, the carbon storage in pedon is 29783 g C/m2. The concentration of the soil organic carbon ranged from 0.55 to 3.55% and relatively constant except the surface samples which are very high (10.4%). δ13CPDB values range from -24.0 to -27.3 per mil with the 13C enriched samples located at mid-section (20 to 100cm). δ13CPDB values of the soil samples generally differ from that of the plant material of the forest, except for the surface samples.
