爾雅版年度詩選研究

Research on Erya's Annual Collections of Poems

摘要


本論文以爾雅出版社(以下簡稱爾雅)從1983年至1993年之間出版之「年度詩選」為對象(《七十一年詩選》至《八十年詩選》)。依序由張默、蕭蕭、向明、李瑞騰、向陽、張漢良輪流主編,總共編選十年。爾雅版年度詩選是具有代表性的年度文學選集之一,為台灣新詩發展留下重要的研究材料。本研究透過埃斯卡皮的文學社會學和布爾迪厄的場域理論,試圖探究年度詩選的典律效應傳播,分析主編權力運作及編選原則,並且釐清年度詩選和1980年代詩潮的關係。回歸到爾雅版年度詩選的編選層面,張默由隱地授權組成編輯委員會,共議選詩的方式,希冀能將年度詩選永續經營。十年的年度詩選分為兩輪,從第二輪《七十七年詩選》後由主編獨立選詩並全權負責,呈現編者的個人品味。此外,從年度詩選的生產角度出發,從爾雅的經營策略、年度詩選的刊載媒體分析以及入選詩人結構三大面向,考察影響爾雅年度詩選的外緣因素。年度詩選停止出版的原因和文學出版走下坡有關,更直接導源自隱地的出版原則。從刊載媒體分析可發現其對特定媒體情有獨鍾,背後另有多重原因。以入選詩人結構分析,十年入選詩人的平均年齡約為四十歲,世代跨越日治時期到戰後1960年世代,從入選次數名單可勾勒出當時的核心詩人群。本文從題材分類和詩潮兩大方向釐清爾雅版年度詩選和新詩史的關係,歸納出年度詩選的選詩有新聞性、時代性、普遍性和現實性等特色,其外亦展現在詩潮中的本土詩和後現代詩脈絡。年度詩選具有典律化意義但不等同典律,其權力仍有侷限。最後,交叉比對年度詩選和其他重要文學選集的結果,統計出年度詩選日後被重複入選的比例高達26.4%,顯示出爾雅版年度詩選的重要參考價值。

This study proposes to discuss the annual collections of poems published by Erya, a Taiwanese Publisher, from 1983 to 1993 (from the 1982 Collection of Poems to the 1991 Collection of Poems.) Edited by Mo Zhang, Xiao Xiao, Ming Xiang, Ruiteng Li, Yang Xiang, and Hanliang Zhang by turns in a decade, the collections are representative annual anthologies as well as important research materials on the development of Taiwanese poems. Based on Robert Escarpit's sociology of literature and Pierre Bourdieu's field theory, this study explores the collections' influence on shaping canons as well as the chief editors' operation of power and principles on editing. It also examines the relation between the collections and the trends in Taiwanese poems in the 1980s.As for the editing of Erya's annual collections of poems, Mo Zhang was authorized by Di Yin to choose editors. Before inviting editors, he took into consideration which poetry association and generation they belonged to, along with their positions in the poetry circles. To pursue a long-term operation of the collections, editors formed an editorial board to choose poems together, and they took the position as chief editor by turns every year. Despite their varying ideas of poetry, they could fully exchange opinions and follow the guiding principles they made. However, the poems in the 1988 Collection of Poems and in the collections that followed were chosen by the chief editor only, showing his personal taste.To discuss the outer factors affecting the collections, this study examines Erya's operation strategies, the media showing the collections, and the composition of the poets in the collections. Erya's publications were popular before 1988. However, after the martial law was lifted, sales of literature works dropped gradually. Although the sales volume of any of the collections remained above 3,000, Di Yin painfully decided to cease the publication of the collections because of his unwillingness to break the function of reprint fees. As for the media showing the collections, this study finds that certain media were favored due to many reasons. As for the composition of the poets, their average age was about 40, and they were born between the Japanese colonial period and the 1960s. The collections also showed the important poets during that period.It is difficult to clearly understand the relation between the collections and the history of Taiwanese poetry. By classifying poems based on their subject matters, this study shows the unique characteristics of Taiwanese poems during 1982 and 1991. It not only reveals that the collections favor realism, universality, and poems that represent news or an era, but also shows the trend toward localization and post-modernism in poetry writing. Although included in the collections, a poem needs to be examined many times before it can be deemed as a classic work. Albeit the collections can shape canons, their influence has its limitation. With careful examination, this study finds that not many poems that win literature awards are included in the collections. The collections encourage novices when including their poems that win campus literature awards, and reaffirm poets' accomplishment when including their poems that win national literature awards. Finally, by reviewing the collections and other important anthologies, this study finds that 26.4 percent of the poems in the collections are later included in other anthologies, and the finding shows that the collections serve as important references.
