On the basis of the General Theory of Crime and Routine Activity Theory, the current study attempts to explain the opportunity effect on adolescent engagement in porn-work and to construct a theoretical model which incorporates major opportunity factors into a single paradigm. Data from 245 adolescent and 208 adolescents engaging in porn-work are used to exam this theoretical model. Findings of the study generally support hypotheses based on the General Theory of Crime and Routine Activity Theory. Several attractive factors have significant influence on adolescent involvement in porn-work, including payment, flexibility of working time, non-profession, and easiness. Drop-out, runaway from school or home, and separation from boy (or girl) friends are critical situations leading adolescents to involve in porn-work. In addition, the major ways that provide channels for adolescents to engage in porn-work are friends, advertisement, and newspaper. According to research findings, policy implications, research limitations, and suggessions for future study are also discussed.
