본 연구의 목적은 대학생의 개인에 따른 학업성취도와 전공만족도의 차이를 살펴보고, 개인, 학습경험, 대학환경 및 진로준비도가 학업성취도와 전공만족도에 미치는 영향을 파악하는데 있다. 이를 위해 A시에 소재한 4년제 대학에 재학 중인 학생 511명을 표집하여 개인, 학습경험, 대학환경, 진로준비도, 학업성취도 및 전공만족도에 대한 설문을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 자료는 Stata IC 14를 사용하여 신뢰도분석, t-test분석, 분산분석, Pearson상관분석 및 단계적 회귀분석을 실시하여 분석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학업성취도는 성별, 입학유형 및 학년에 따라 유의한 차이가 나타났고 전공만족도는 학년에 따라 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 둘째, 학업성취도에 유의하게 영향을 미치는 변인은 성별, 입학유형, 학습전략, 고차원학습으로 도출되었고, 이들은 학업성취도 변량의 16%를 설명하였다. 전공만족도에 유의하게 영향을 미치는 변인은 성별, 교직원관계, 진로준비로 도출되었고, 이들은 전공만족도 변량의 35%를 설명하였다. 셋째, 대학환경과 진로준비도는 학업성취도에 유의한 영향을 미치지 못하지만 전공만족도에는 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 연구결과에 따라 학업성취도와 전공만족도를 향상시키기 위한 방안을 제안하였고 연구의 제한점을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in academic achievements and satisfaction on majors depending on individual variables and the effects of individual variables, college study experiences, college environment and career preparation on academic achievements and satisfaction on majors. Participants are 511 students from one university in A-city. The variables of individual, college study experiences, college environment and career preparation on academic achievements and satisfaction on majors were analyzed using t-test, F-test, Pearson correlation analysis and stepwise regression with StataIC 14. The results were as follows. First, there were differences in academic achievements on gender, types of entrance examinations, grades. There were differences in satisfaction on majors on grades. Second, academic achievements were affected by gender, types of entrance examinations, study strategies and high impact studies, and those variables estimated 16% of academic achievements. Satisfaction on majors were affected by gender, relation with college staff and career preparation, and those variables estimated 35% of satisfaction on majors. Third, college environment and career preparation don’t have significant effects on academic achievements, but do have on satisfaction on majors. This study showed the implication of the results and suggested the measures to improve academic achievements and satisfaction on majors, and the limitations of the study methods.
