Abstract:: Este breve ensaio traduz para português e comenta o poema “The Day after Tomorrow”, de Billy Collins, uma composição em que o escritor se refere à poesia de Fernando Pessoa, ao Sensacionismo, à figura de Álvaro de Campos e aos heterónimos do escritor. Discute-se ainda o poema “On Rhyme”, de Collins, de onde se extrai o título do livro 'The Rain in Portugal', como arte poética que afirma o potencial criativo gerado pela recusa da rima.; This brief essay translates to Portuguese and provides an analytical commentary on the poem “The Day after Tomorrow,” by Billy Collins, a poem in which the author addresses the poetry of Fernando Pessoa, the Sensationist style, the persona of Álvaro de Campos, and Pessoa’s main heteronyms. It also discusses Collins’s “On Rhyme”, a poem from which the title of the book 'The Rain in Portugal' is taken, as an ars poetica that highlights the creative possibilities generated by the refusal of rhyme
