What kind of future will religion in the New Normal Era face? What reflection has COVID-19 brought to religion and what kind of change is it asking for? This study focused on the publicity of religion to answer these questions. With COVID-19, religious groups are facing a crisis due to a decrease in believers and donations, negative public opinion, etc. as meetings in person are restricted. This study saw that in order to overcome this crisis, each religion must first strive to restore the social role of religion, that is, the publicity of religion. In addition, it was suggested that the restoration of publicity should have an attitude that prioritizes the public good over religious beliefs, respects and cooperates with other religions or non-religious people, practices a caring community, and aims for a world of peace through religious networks.

뉴노멀시대 종교는 어떤 미래를 맞이할 것인가? 코로나19는 종교에 어떤 성찰을 가져왔으 며 어떠한 변화를 요청하고 있는가? 본 연구는 이러한 의문에 답하기 위해 종교의 공공성에 주 목하였다. 코로나19로 종교단체는 대면모임이 제한되면서 신자와 헌금의 감소, 부정적인 여 론 등으로 위기를 맞이하고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 위기를 극복하기 위해 먼저 각 종교는 종교 의 사회적 역할, 즉 종교의 공공성 회복에 힘써야 한다고 보았다. 또한 공공성 회복을 통한 뉴노 멀시대 종교의 활로로 종교적 신념보다 공공선을 우선시하는 자세와 다른 종교인 또는 비종교 인을 존중하고 협력하는 자세, 돌봄의 공동체를 실천하는 자세, 종교적 네트워크를 통해 평화 세계를 지향하는 자세 등을 가져야 한다는 것을 제안하였다.
