In the present article, the influence of the temperature and the stress intensity factor upon both the striation spacing and the fatigue crack propagation rate, dC⁄dN, in the same materials has experimentally been studied, in order to get similarity and dissimilarity between them. The material used is 2024-T 3 Aluminum alloy. The results show that both dC⁄dN and the striation spacing are in good agreement with the Arrehenius type equation within the range of the temperature and stress intensity factor tested. It is to be noted that apparent activation energies are nearly equal between them at a higher level of stress intensity, although in this range dC⁄dN and striation spacing are not equal.
