Abstract
Botanical exploration in northeastern Oaxaca has revealed an undescribed species ofUlmus. A description and illustration ofUlmus ismaelis highlight its distinctive features. A dichotomous key summarizes morphological differences for allUlmus species in Mexico.

Trabajo de campo en el noroeste de Oaxaca resultó en el descubrimiento de una nueva especie deUlmus. La descripción e ilustración deUlmus ismaelis destaca sus características distinctivas. Una clave resume las diferencias morfológicas entre todas las especies deUlmus en México.
