STEAM 프로젝트 결과의 국제 학술 대회 발표 경험에 관한 현상학적 연구

A Phenomenological Study on the Experiences of International Academic Conference Presentations of STEAM Project Results

본 연구는 STEAM 프로젝트 활동에 참여하고 그 결과를 국제 학술대회에서 발표하는 경험의 의미와 본질을 탐구하기 위해 중학교 2, 3학년 13명의 학생을 대상으로 현상학적 질적 연구를 수행하였다. 연구 참여자들은 2016년 3월부터 2016년 8월까지 STEAM 프로젝트 활동에 참여하였고, 2016년 8월 국제 학술대회에서 STEAM 프로젝트 결과를 발표하였다. 학술대회 발표 경험 후에 연구 참여자를 대상으로 국제 학술 대회를 준비하는 동안의 배운 점, 좋았던 점, 힘들었던 점과 국제 학술 대회에 직 접 참가하면서 경험하면서 느꼈던 점 등을 중심으로 반 구조화된 인터뷰를 진행하였다. 인터뷰 내용은 전사 한 후, 국제 학술 대회 준비를 하는 과정의 경험과 국제 학술대회 발표의 경험으로 구분하여 의미 단위를 분석하였고, 29개의 의미단위를 발견하였다. STEAM 프로젝트 활동을 통해 중학생이 국제 학술대회 준비를 하는 과정의 경험의 의미와 관련된 주제로 ‘새로운 것을 배운다는 것의 기쁨’, ‘협력의 경험과 소통’, ‘문제 해결 과정’, ‘새로운 도전에 따라오는 어려움’을 도출하였다. 또한, 국제 학술대회 발표의 경험의 의미를 이해할 수 있는 주제로 ‘새로운 도전에 대한 설렘과 기대’, ‘의견을 주고받는 소통의 자리’, ‘경쟁이 아닌 공유의 장’, ‘새로운 도전을 통한 성취’를 도출하였다. 이러한 국제 학술 대회 준비와 발표 경험을 통해서 글로벌 시대를 살아가는 학생들이 많은 분야의 다양한 교류를 할 수 있는 기회를 제공하고 경험할 수 있는 시스템을 마련하는 것이 필요하고 충분한 시간과 자원을 지원받을 수 있는 정책과 제도의 마련을 위한 다양한 방안이 모색되어져야 할 것이다.

This study conducted a phenomenological qualitative study of 13 students in the second and third grade of middle school, In order to explore the meaning and essence of the experience of participating in the STEAM project activities and presenting the results at the international academic conferences. The participants participated in the STEAM project activities from March 2016 to August 2016, and the STEAM project results were announced at the international academic conferences in August 2016. After the conference announcement experience, they conducted semi-structured interviews on the subjects of the research, focusing on what they learned, good points, hard points and experiences they had while participating in international academic conferences. The contents of the interviews were divided into the experience of preparing the international conferences and the experience of presenting international academic conferences after analyzing the meaning, analyzing the semantic units, and found 29 semantic units. Through the STEAM project activities, the topics related to the meaning of the experience of preparing the international conferences for middle school students are The joy of learning new things , Experience and communication of cooperation , Problem solving process , Difficulty to come . In addition, the topics that can understand the meaning of the experience of presenting international conferences are arousal and expectation for new challenges , a place of communication for exchanging opinions , a forum for sharing rather than competition , Achievement . Through the preparation and presentation experience of these international academic conferences, it is necessary to provide students with opportunities to experience various exchanges in many fields of global age, A variety of measures should be sought for the establishment of the system.
