초록

본 연구에서는 순응 패러다임인 입모양 잔여효과(Mouth shape aftereffects)를 사용하여 자폐 스펙트럼 장애(Autism Spectrum Disorder) 아동이 자주　응시하는　입과　관련된　처리에서　정상발달　아동과　차이를　보이는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 알아보기 위해 첫째, 국내 정상 발달 집단에서 입모양 잔여효과가 나타나는지를 확인하고, 둘째, ASD 아동의 입모양 잔여효과가 정상발달 아동과 차이가 보이는지를 비교하였다. 연구 I에서는 종합대학교에서 재학　중인 대학생 51명을 무선으로 ‘음’ 또는 ‘유’ 입모양 순응 집단으로 구분한 후 입모양 순응과제를 수행하였다. 연구 Ⅱ에서는 만 6세에서 16세의 ASD로 진단받은 아동 20명과 성별, 연령 및 지능을 매칭한 정상발달 아동 18명이 모집되었으며, 참가자들은 연구 I과 동일한 컴퓨터 과제를 완료하였다. 연구 결과, 연구 I에서 국내 정상발달 집단에서 입모양 잔여효과가 나타났으며 ‘유’입모양에 순응한 집단의 입모양 잔여효과 크기가 더 크게 나타났다. 한편 ASD 아동과 정상 발달한 아동의 입모양 잔여효과를 비교한 연구 Ⅱ 결과, 두 집단 모두 입모양 잔여효과가 나타났으나 유의한 차이가 보고되지 않았다. 이러한 결과는 ASD 아동이 입과 관련된 지각 처리에 있어 어려움이 없으며 정상발달 아동과 동일한 입과 관련된 규준을 가지고 있음을 의미한다. 이와 같은 함의에 더불어 한계점 및 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.
