Abstract

The purpose of this study is to consider a new management system for facilitating Consensus-building in infrastructure developments by application of negotiation skills. Recently, some confrontations or disputes become social concern, which become increasingly more interested in citizen participation and public involvement. However, the system of facilitating Consensus-building is not enough established. In this study, negotiation styles, strategies and tactics were applied to the road construction project, it was found that it repeatedly has positional bargaining between administration and residents, which was caused serious confrontations. To overcome the problems, principled negotiation facilitated by third party was shown as a new management system.
