Chemical Engineering Division fuel cycle applied technology. Quarterly progress report, January-March 1979
Work on advanced solvent extraction techniques during this period included comparison of predictions of a centrifugal contactor operating theory with results obtained with a 9-cm-ID unit, comparison of mixing power requirements with those predicted by a theory, development of a new dimensionless dispersion number for modelling separation-zone performance, completion of the design of an advanced annular centrifugal contactor that will process 0.5 Mg of FBR fuel per day, further fabrication of a 25-cm-ID centrifugal contactor, and study of the kinetics of ruthenium and ruthenium extraction.
