본 연구에서는 대학생의 성장기 도박노출, 행동활성화 및 행동억제 체계(BAS/BIS), 비합리적 도박신념과 도박중독 간의 관계를 탐색하고, 도박중독에 대한 성장기 도박노출과 행동활성화 및 행동억제 체계, 비합리적 도박신념의 설명력을 분석하였다. 이 연구의 참여자는 서울시와 대전시, 원주시에 소재한대학교에 재학 중인 대학생 470명이고, 연령분포는 만 18세부터 29세였다. 분석결과, 대학생의 성장기 도박노출과 비합리적 도박신념 수준은 남자가 여자보다 높았다. 도박중독은 성장기 도박노출, 행동활성화 및 행동억제 체계 및 비합리적 도박신념과 정적 상관이 있었다. 성장기 도박노출은 행동활성화 체계와 행동 억제체계, 비합리적 도박신념과 정적 관계가 있었고, 행동활성화 및 행동억제 체계는 비합리적 도박신념과 정적 상관이 있었다. 단계적 회귀분석결과, 비합리적 도박신념의 하위요인인 자기과신적/비논리적 추론이 도박중독을 35.2%가량 설명하고 있었다. 추가적으로 성장기 도박노출의 하위요인인 놀이 및 스포츠 내기 경험과 행동억제체계가 도박중독을 3.2% 정도 설명하는 것으로 나타났다.

This study aims to investigate the relationships between gambling exposure during the childhood, behavioral activation system (BAS) and behavioral inhibition system (BIS), irrational gambling beliefs, and gambling addiction among college students. The participants were 470 college students, whose ages ranged from 18 to 29. Results indicated that females students showed higher gambling exposure during period of growth, BAS/BIS, and gambling addiction than male students. Gambling exposure during the childhood, BAS/BIS, and irrational gambling beliefs were positively related to gambling addiction .of college students. Gambling exposure during the childhood was positively related to BAS/BIS and irrational gambling beliefs, while BAS/BIS were positively related to irrational gambling beliefs. Step-wise regression analysis indicated that overconfidence or irrational inference explanatory ability, as a irrational gambling belief, was accounted for the most variance of gambling addiction, approximately 35.2%. Additionally, play/sports betting experience and BIS were accounted for 3.2% of the variance in gambling addiction.
