Motivações pragmáticas e(m) contextos bridging: o papel das inferências na gramaticalização

Resumo

Neste trabalho, investigamos o papel dos contextos nos estágios iniciais da mudança por gramaticalização, objetivando fornecer evidências de que são arranjos contextuais específicos que criam as condições para o desenvolvimento de formas mais gramaticais (TRAUGOTT, 1988; HEINE, 2002). A importância do domínio contextual para o início da gramaticalização está, principalmente, no fato de que determinados contextos disparam inferências favorecedoras de reanálises de forma e sentido, que são pré-condição para a origem de novos funcionamentos. Para evidenciar o papel das inferências na gramaticalização, desenvolvemos um estudo sincrônico das mudanças que originam construções de junção contrastiva com agora, extraindo, a partir da variedade de contextos em que agora pode atuar no português contemporâneo, indícios de arranjos contextuais favorecedores das mudanças.
