Abstract

The crystal structure of capillarisin, which is one of the constituents of Artemisia capillaries, has been determined. The chromone ring system is nearly planar stabilized by an intramolecular hydrogen bond; the dihedral angle between the chromone and p-hydroxybenzyl moieties is 61.57(4)°. There are intermolecular π-π stacking interactions between the ring moieties correlated with symmetrical operations. The crystal structure is also stabilized by intermolecular hydrogen bonds.
