The crystal of the title compound belongs to space group P21, and the cell dimensions are a = 7.6961(3), b = 14.6036(5), c = 10.4355(5)Å and β = 95.739(2)°. The final R is 0.038. In the pregna-1,4-diene-3-one skeleton, rings A, B, C and D adopt planar, chair, chair and envelope conformations, respectively. There are seven intramolecular C-H···acceptor interactions.
