Abstract:
Contemporary Information and communication technologies, education and science have been closely related for the last few decades. As a result of their successful symbiosis, a number of innovative forms and methods of learning, assessment and teaching have emerged, actively using the new opportunities provided by contemporary technological solutions.

Mobile smartphones, tablets and personal computers are now an integral part of people‘s lives. They provide people’s social contacts, learning, cultural pursuits, etc. The scientific interest in the inclusion of mobile communication technologies in support of education has been growing with each passing day. A number of scientists, experts, teachers and practitioners in the field highly appreciate the potential of the inclusion of technology in educational processes and are actively working for the increasing presence of mobile technologies in education. Numerous mobile learning projects have been implemented in the last two decades, but at the same time there is no single information hub where information on projects and initiatives in the field of mobile education is collected, systematized and provided.

This paper presents the information database: Projects for Mobile Learning, created in the course of the realization of the research project entitled “Information Portal for Mobile Learning and Mobile Access to Library Services and Resources“, approved for funding in a Competition for Financial Support for Projects of Junior Basic Researchers and Postdocs – 2019, held by the Bulgarian Science Fund with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Bulgaria, Contract №KP-06-М35/2 from 18.12.2019, led by Senior Assist. Prof. Elisaveta Dimitrova Tsvetkova, PhD. The main objective of the project is through the consistent study of the problem related to mobile learning and mobile access to library services and resources to reach new scientific knowledge united and presented in a common information Internet portal, whereby the positive changes that information technologies cause in the contemporary society have been shown and summarized in connection with the new opportunities for access to education and information.

The main goal of the research presented in this paper is to study and systematize the international experience in the realization of mobile learning projects, to analyze and summarize both the positive effects of the realization of mobile learning projects and to highlight the challenges in this area.

The methodology applied for the realisation of the study includes tools for observation, search, systematization, summary and analysis of traditional as well as electronic information sources.

In summary, the paper and the realization of the scientific project aim at emphasizing the crucial role of new technologies inclusion in the educational and information supply nowadays. The aim is to further the interest in the distribution of mobile forms of informing and learning, to focus on the significant role of a unified information Internet portal that unites the information on these issues.

Note: The realization of the project presented here is in no way linked to the responses of the educational and scientific community to the COVID pandemic. The world does not start with this pandemic, nor will the pandemic put an end to it.
