Abstract:
The article presents an analysis of the main problems of teaching the Russian language by including idioms and phraseological units in order to consolidate grammar, lexical and syntactic material.

One of the most important aspects of teaching Russian as a foreign language is phraseology along with lexis. Unlike vocabulary, which encompasses the entire spectrum of facts, phenomena and processes of reality, phraseology reflects the sphere of a person’s emotional and psychological states, feelings, quantitative and qualitative characteristics of phenomena and objects, which often allows you to express them with a particularly stressed expression.

It is necessary to select, on the one hand, phraseological units, which include vocabulary necessary for memorizing at one or another level, and on the other hand, which are frequency and in common use, that a student could apply everyday.

Thus, the inclusion of phraseological units in the learning process from the zero level can be very useful for the consolidation of morphological, lexical and syntactic material, as well as serve as a good illustrative material to explore the country and its culture.
