이 글에서는 프랑스의 정신분석학자 자크 라캉과 후기구조주의 학자 질 들뢰즈의 욕망 이론을 각각 해석하였다. 라캉의 욕망은 결핍에서 비롯된 것이다. 그것은 또한 무의식에 머물러 현실화되지 않은 것이 언어화되려는 것이다. 이러한 이유에서 라캉의 욕망은 언어에 의해 규제받는 상징계의 것이다. 그렇기 때문에 그것은 대타자의 욕망이다. 이에 비해 들뢰즈의 욕망은 생산하고자 하는 생명의 흐름 그 자체이다. 들뢰즈의 욕망은 배치를 통해 성취하게 된다. 배치로서의 욕망이다. 이를 통해 들뢰즈는 라캉이 설명할 수 없었던 욕망이 성취되는 과정을 설명하였다. 라캉은 말년에 세미나 21에서 문학가 제임스 조이스를 예로 설명하면서 예술가들이 상징계의 욕망인 대타자의 욕망의 덫에 갇히지 않는 생톰의 개념을 발전시키면서 들뢰즈와 과타리의 생산으로서의 욕망과 접점을 찾을 수 있었다. 이 점이 함의하는 것은 상징계의 질서가 주체에 의해 깨지면서 주체는 지속적으로 상상계를 발전시킬 수 있다는 것이다. 그리고 이 점이 미술교육에 시사 하는 바는 생산으로서의 욕망이 정동의 몸에서 지도 만들기를 거쳐 배치에 도달하면서 이것임의 비물질적 변형을 통해 독특성을 성취한다는 점이다. 이에 대한 제반 지식은 과거 로웬필드의 미술교육의 교수학습 방법의 대안적 교육 방법을 제시한다.

In this article, the theories of desires of the French psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan and the post-structuralist scholar Gilles Deleuze are interpreted respectively. Lacan’s desire stems from lack. It is also about staying in the unconscious and trying to make language what has not been realized. For this reason, Lacan’s desire is in the Symbolic Order regulated by language That is why it is the desire of the Other. In contrast, Deleuze’s desire is the flow of life itself to produce. Deleuze’s desire is achieved through assemblage. It is a desire as an assemblage. Through this, Deleuze explained the process of transformation of desire that Lacan could not explain. In seminar 21 on Joyce, Lacan was able to answer back Deleuze and Guattari’s important questioning of his position by developing the sinthome―which was directed specifically to artists like Joyce who were not caught by the desire of the Other (that is, desire by the Symbolic Order) which defined the symptom for Lacan. What this means is that the artist was able to break with the desire the symbolic order held on him or her. He or she could develop another imaginary world. And what this suggests for art education is that the desire as production achieves the singularity in art through its incorporeal transformation as it reaches the assemblages of through making a map in the affective body. Suggesting an alternative pedagogy to the teaching and learning method of the past Lowenfield’s art education, knowledge on desire discussed in this paper has great implications for preparing future of art education.
