Abstract

Preliminary observations conducted in class VIII-2 SMPN 6 Malang showed that students have not developed their reading comprehension of mathematical text. So selected class action research (CAR) to overcome these problems, with the purpose of improving students’ reading comprehension skills. The research was successful after the implementation of cycle II with the average of each criteria is first criteria 76 percent, second criteria 87,67 percent, and the third criteria 76,3 percent. While the average percentage of success cycle 1 is 55.4 percent and increased in cycle 2 to 79.99 percent.
