Description

The dataset contains ageing data from three prismatic Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery cells. The three cells were aged using a realistic forklift operations profile, with a length of approximately two weeks, which was distilled from a four-month forklift field operation. In order to accelerate the aging of the battery cells they were aged at higher temperatures (45, 40, and 35 degC for cells 1, 2, and 3, respectively) and all idling periods found in the forklift field operation were removed. Furthermore, to match the specifications of the battery test stations, the charging/discharging current during the aging with the realistic forklift load profile was limited to 50 A. The SOC profile of the battery cells aged using the realistic forklift load profile was identical to the SOC profile of the forklift field-operated batteries. A round of ageing consists of two steps: (1) the ageing (using the realistic forklift profile), and (2) a reference performance test. These two steps were repeated 58 times for 'Cell 1' and 'Cell 2', and 53 times for 'Cell 3'. The periodic reference performance test can be used to extract exact health information allowing for the tracking of the degradation of each cell.
