Abstract

By way of the example of the Pervouralskoye deposit titanium-magnetite ores, a dry treatment method of associated rocks material crushing screenings has been considered, providing for beneficiated sand production for construction purposes. It is noted, that disperse materials screening and hydraulic classification operations, applied at mining facilities, are not suitable for dust removal from crushing screenings. Air sizing of granular materials with application of cascade units is one of the efficient methods of beneficiation. Crossflow classifier design, conditions and main processing parameters of rocks material crushing screenings beneficiation process have been examined. The experimental results of gabbro and hornblendite materials, as well as their mixtures, crushing screenings air sizing by means of the apparatus in question, are presented. Beneficiated sand grain-size distribution was determined. Dependence of final product yield and its dust content upon velocity of air flow passing through classifier, as well as dependence of screenings beneficiation efficiency upon air-and-material particles mixture concentration, are presented. A commercial plant flow sheet is proposed, main parameters of crossflow classifier with the throughput rate from 20 to 100 t/hr are described.
