이 연구의 목적은 초등학생을 위한 진로 지도 프로그램 적용이 진로 성숙도와 진로 자기 효능감에 미치는 효과를 검증하는데 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 다음과 같이 가설을 설정하였다. 진로 지도 프로그램을 적용한 실험 집단과 통제 집단 사이에서 (1) 진로성숙도의 하위 영역인 진로태도와 진로능력에서 유의미한 차이가 없을 것이다. (2) 진로 자기 효능감의 하위 영역인 교육진로와 과업진로에서 유의한 차이가 없을 것이다.이와 같은 가설을 검증하기 위하여 초등학교 6학년 64명을 대상으로 ‘이질 통제 집단 전후 검사’ 설계 모형을 적용하였다. 실험 집단은 진로 지도 프로그램을 적용하였고, 통제집단은 진로 지도 프로그램을 적용하지 않은 후 사후 검사를 실시하였다. 이 연구에서 얻어진 결과는, 첫째, 진로 지도 프로그램은 초등학생의 진로 성숙도를 높이는데 효과적이었다. 즉 프로그램을 적용한 실험 집단의 학생들이 진로 지도를 받지 못한 통제 집단의 학생들보다 진로 성숙도의 태도 영역과 능력 영역에서 크게 향상되었다. 둘째, 진로 지도 프로그램은 초등학생의 진로 자기 효능감 향상에 별로 효과가 없었다. 즉 프로그램에 참여한 실험 집단의 학생들은 통제 집단의 학생들보다 하위 영역인 교육진로 자기 효능감과 과업진로 자기 효능감에의 평균에 있어서는 차이가 있었지만 두 집단을 비교했을 때 통계적으로 유의미한 차이는 없었다.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the career-guidance program on career-maturity and career self-efficacy of elementary school students. The following hypotheses were stated and utilized for the purpose of the study. There is no significant difference between the experimental group that participates in the career-guidance program and the control group that doesn't in terms of career-attitude and career-ability which are the sub-domains of career-maturity, and career-skills which are the sub-domains of career self-efficacy. To verify the hypotheses of the study, a post-test was applied to 64 students in their sixth year of elementary school including both the experimental group and the control group. The career-guidance program was applied only to the experimental group, not to the control group. The data was collected and interpreted statistically by t-test using SPSS(ver. 12) at the .05 level of significance. The results of this study were as follows: First, the career-guidance program was effective in improving career-maturity of elementary school students. That is, the experimental group students who took part in the career-guidance program showed more improvement in the attitude and ability domain of career maturity than the control group students who did not participate in the career-guidance program. Second, the career-guidance program had little effect on the improvement of career self-efficacy. That is, the experimental group students made a difference in the average of career self-efficacy and skills when compared to the average of the control group students. But there was no significant difference in the statistics between the two groups. The results of this study show the career-guidance program for elementary school students is effective in improving their career-maturity.
