The study aimed to exploring direction of future study. To this end, performances of study in Korean historical archaeology progressed during 2012~13 were arranged. Study in historical archaeology during recent two years showed characteristic of construction of foothold and expansion of horizon. Relics excavated throughout the whole country were systematically arranged and work to reinforce foundation of study was progressed. On the other hand, based on this, new study theme was sought and study to add new viewpoint was carried out.
As before, excavation of relics was made by professional firm for excavation survey. Many among researchers who published thesis in the academic world were ones belonged to the firms. Among relics excavated, tombs of A.D. 4~6th century still account for much portion. Materials of 1~3rd century increased considerably. In the Yeongnam area, tombs accounted for comparatively higher portion except for Gyeongju. In Hoseo and Honam areas, community accounted for comparatively higher portion.
One of new pursuit disclosed in recent study was that attempt to find man and society was on the sharp rise, going beyond study on relics themselves. In addition, it draws attention that interdisciplinary study with ancient historical studies circle is on active going.
