Nomenclatural History
This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 15 in 1984. The species Thermomonospora chromogena was originally described by Krasil'nikov and Agre 1965. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1984 the name was revived by McCarthy and Cross. In 2018, Wu et al. established as the basonym of (McCarthy and Cross 1984) Wu et al. 2018 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 .
