Abstract: Using the every census dataset in Guangzhou since 1982, the evolutional trend of population distribution in traditional eight districts in Guangzhou has been analyzed. It’s suggested that population suburbanization in Guangzhou city has become more and more obvious, and rapid population growth sector regions have been formed under the effect of a large-scale of manufacture and real estate development. Floating population had mainly distributed in the periphery of central city with higher spatial agglomeration. Multi- centers spatial structure has been basically formed, with the characteristic that sub- center’s agglomeration ability becomes more and more strong and floating population mass concentration to urban villages with convenient transportation in the center city’s peripheral area makes main contribution to the formation of sub-centers. So sub-center’s formation was the production of urban-rural dual structure and household registration system etc. and reflected the system effect on the urban space to a certain extent. This research has important reference significance for Guangzhou urban renewal development, optimization of job- housing spatial organization and alleviating traffic congestion, promoting the equalization of basic public services.
