This study aimed to explore the fit of hypothetical model for the path from in-service biology teachers’ religiosity to their attitudes toward teaching evolution/ creation mediated by the understanding of nature of science and the acceptance of evolution. Total 82 in-service biology teachers joined this study and the level of five variables (e.g., religiosity, nature of science, acceptance of evolution, attitude toward teaching evolution, and attitude toward teaching creation) were measured by the reliable instruments. The Pearson correlation, partial correlation, independent sampled tests, and path analysis were performed to evaluate the fit of model. The finding illustrated that the mediating effect of the understanding of nature of science and the acceptance of evolution between in-service biology teachers’ religiosity to their attitudes toward teaching evolution/creation was significant and meaningful. The direct influence of religiosity to the attitudes toward teaching evolution/creation was not significant and only indirect path from religiosity to the attitudes toward teaching evolution/creation mediated by the understanding of nature of science and the acceptance of evolution were significant. This finding revealed the promising role of the understanding of nature of science and the acceptance of evolution to resolve the influence of in-service biology teachers’ religiosity on the attitude toward teaching evolution.
