内容記述 | Shah Turkman Biyabani is said to have been a Sufi saint of the Suhrawardi order during the early Sultanate period. A graveyard which still exists in the southern part of the old Shahjahanabad area in Old Delhi to the north of the Turkman Darwazah〔cf. Figs. 3 & 4〕was identified by Saiyid Ahmad Khan to be the dargah of the saint. There is, however, another small graveyard locally known as Mamu Bhanjah (i. e. uncle-nephew), which has become the object of worship as Dargah Shah Turkman. It is situated about twenty meters to the north-east of the Turkman Gate〔cf. Figs. 1 & 2〕. The article, describing briefly the physical setting and features of these graveyards, discusses the history of the dargahs and the circumstances under which the graveyard called Mamu Bhanjah has become a dargah of the Sufi saint. The second part of the article deals with the graves believed to be of the mother, a sister and a niece of Shaikh Nizam al-Din Auliya', the well-known Chishti leader in the fourteenth century. It is also pointed out that there has been a popular confusion in the personal names of his family-members, supposedly buried in the graveyard in the old village of Adhchini to the north of the Qutb Minar. | |||||
