昆崙山脈西部の山旅、高所順応に関する自己体験(2005年7-8 月、夢ムスターグく6,345m 峰>登頂時の記録)

Abstract

200年4月, 「シルクロードを訪れる」という学生時代(1960年代)の「夢のまた夢」が適い, 西域南道, タクラマカン砂漠公路そして天山南路の一端に触れることが出来た. 同年9-10月, 再びシルクロードの街ウルムチそしてカシュガルを訪れ, 昆崙山脈西部の目指すべき未踏峰の探索を行い, その結果を踏まえ, 翌2005年7-8 月には「昆崙の未踏峰を登る」 という夢の実現を見た. 私自身の高所経験といえば, 富士山を始めとする国内の3, 000m級の山々やボルネオのキナバル山(4, 095m)程度しか無い. 本稿は, そういう人の人聞の, 標高4, 000m-6, 000mにおける高所順応の1回だけの失敗と成功の体験を記したものである. 60歳前後に至りやっと海外の山々や高地に眼を向けられるようになった方々, 或いは将来, 中国滞在30日間(ある種のビザの有効期間)という自由時間を手に, 新蔵公路を通って昆祷の未踏峰を目指そうとする方々に, 些かなりとも参考になれば誠に幸いである

In April 2004, I had an opportunity to travel through parts of Tian Shan South Road, Takla Makan South Road (Seiiki South Road), and the Desert Highway which cuts vertically across the Takla Makan Desert, fulfilling my life-long dream of "visiting the Silk Road." From September to October of the same year, I visited the Silk Road' s cities ofUrumuqi and Kashgar in search for an unclimbed virgin peak in the Kunlun Mountains, and from July to August of 2005, based on the results of that search, I was able to fulfill my second dream of "the first ascent of an virgin peak in the Kunlun Mountain Range." My only previous experiences of high altitude had been of climbing 3, 000m-class mountains in Japan, including Mt. Fuji, and Mt. Kinabalu (4, 095 m) in Borneo island. This paper describes a case example of success and failure of a man in his only attempt at high altitude adaptation between 4, 000 m to 6, 000 m. I hope this will serve as reference for those who are setting their eyes on foreign mountains or plateaus for the first time at the age of about 60, or those who are planning to climb virgin peaks in Kunlun via Xinzang Road during 30 days of free time in China (effective period of a certain type of visa) in the future.
