Abstract: A survey was conducted to study the change of soil macro-animals in the burned forest areas in northern Daxing’an Mountains of China at different restoration stages. The soil macro-animals could be divided into three guilds: saprophagy, phytophage and predacity. The aprophagous animal was predominant guild compared with the other two guilds in both individual number and biomass.Except for the sample plots one year after burning which had the highest percentage of predatory animals, the proportion of saprophagous animals was the largest in other sample plots. And the proportion increased when the environmental conditions were better.A significant positive correlation was only observed between the number of saprophagous animals and the number of predatory animals, while significant positive correlations were found between biomass of all the guilds.
