PPARγ is reduced in the airways of non-CF bronchiectasis subjects and is inversely correlated with the presence of Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Relative PPARγ gene expression, as determined by RT-PCR in BAL-derived cells from healthy control volunteers and macrolide naïve non-CF bronchiectasis subjects.

Gene expression levels were expressed relative to the expression of the housekeeping gene, β actin and normalised to the median of the control group. Points represent individual subjects. Significance determined by Mann-Whitney U test. Significant values denoted by an asterisk (*).
