The data pattern approximates an exponential function, with a steep rise that gradually asymptotes at a certain value. This value is the estimate for VSTM storage capacity, or K. The threshold (t0) and processing speed (C) parameters are defined as the x-axis intercept of the fitted function and the tangent to that function at the intercept, respectively.
